Every year, Purple Playas Foundation hosts one of our most exciting events — a Helicopter Golf Ball Drop where 1,000 numbered balls rain down from above, and one lucky winner takes home $1,000. The best part? You can join from anywhere.
The drop took place on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. We released 1,000 numbered golf balls from a helicopter over a hole on a driving range. The ball that lands closest to — or drops into — the hole wins $1,000.
It’s that simple. And you don’t have to be anywhere near Tampa to win.
Participating is easy:
Purchase as many numbered golf balls as you'd like — $10 each
Ball numbers are randomly assigned and emailed to you after purchase
We'll drop all 1,000 balls from a helicopter live
The winner is announced on our Facebook page shortly after the drop

Location: TPC Tampa Bay Driving Range — Drop is virtual/remote friendly
Cost: $10 per ball — purchase as many as you’d like
Prize: $1,000 to the ball closest to the hole
